Pewter Inlay Bobbins



Archibald Abbott 1815-1885
One of the few bobbin makes that signed his work. 
This bobbin includes his favorite screw thread decoration.

Inlaid pewter bands are known as TIGERS.

 


The above pewter inlayed design has many names including;
butterfly, bedford-fly and crowsfoot.



These dot embelished bobbins are called Leopards.
The pewter, over time has worked it's way up and these are 
frequently raised over time.

This Thumper has loose bands called jingles.
